Since its foundation CIAI has always supported and promoted the right of all children, wherever they are born, to grow up in a loving family. Inter-country adoption is a specific scheme guaranteeing the right of minors to have a family.

As an authorized corporate body for inter-country adoption in Italy, CIAI has the assignment to find in our country a family for the orphan or abandoned children. Up until today around 2,000 children have found the warm welcome of a new family through CIAI.

CIAI is engaged in finding a family in Italy for children which are identified to be in a real state of abandonment and where all the possible solutions in the country of origin have been exhausted. As an Authorised Entity according to Italian Law 476/98, CIAI provides all the assistance and preparation necessary until the eventual meeting of the family and the child, as well as proving support following the adoption.

The children we take care of

CIAI deals with children aged from 0 to 10 years of age that are declared in a state of abandonment and that live in orphanages. Currently the authorization of the Committee for Inter-country Adoption allows us to operate in: Brazil, Burkina Faso, China, Colombia, Cambodia Ecuador, Ethiopia, India, Peru, Romania, Thailand and Vietnam.

Our partners

In those countries we are authorized to operate in, we have chosen to privilege the relationship with the central authority where it is present, and after the monitoring with the public and private institutions that were identified by their local authorities, with the Offices and Departments or with the juvenile magistracy.
