CIAI believe that it is extremely important to invest in the cultural awareness of adults and young people to respect children's right, to encourage the concept that all children are entitled to a childhood  and sustain all actions in favour of childhood. The activities promoted by CIAI can ideally be divided into the following categories:

1. Training for families, operators and citizens on the theme of inter country adoption. The main purpose of such  activity is to deepen the crucial theme of adoption and to give the couples and social operators the possibility of meeting each other and  discussing and comparing issues of common interest with regards to adoption and child welfare in general.
2. Training courses for families, CIAI's staff and social operators. The aim is to elaborate the theme of the child’s emotional world  and of his cultural heritage; the courses for CIAI's staff and for the psycho-social operators are focused on specific skills to be improved.
3. Publications: as a  key organization for Inter-Country Adoption, CIAI dedicates its efforts to analyzing all the themes of childhood in particular in Italy.
4. Co-participation in conferences: the mutual elaboration and exchange on childhood topics are important elements for all those organizations that would like, in the meanwhile, to be proactive and receptive, contributing therefore to the evolution of a new childhood culture.
